Kelsy De Prada is a musician based in south-east Victoria, specialising in flute performance. A highly respected teacher, Kelsy teaches flute, clarinet and saxophone at a number of  schools while balancing a busy performance schedule, which includes solo recitals, chamber music performances and orchestral performances. In 2025, Kelsy will present a flute quartet series at art galleries in the south-eastern suburbs as the director of the music collective, Blind Creek Ensemble.

hroughout Kelsy’s undergraduate studies at Monash University, she had the privilege to study with Peter Sheridan, Carolyn Berlin and to participate in masterclasses with Prudence Davis, Wissam Boustany, Robert Fabbriciani and Meg Stirling. As a soloist she has performed virtuosic works including the Vivaldi C Major Piccolo Concerto, Death of the Angel by Piazzolla and has played underneath conductors such as Tianyi Liu, Jessica Cottis, Alexander Bridger and Benjamin Northey. Notable experiences in ensembles include principal flute and piccolo roles in the Monash University Symphony Orchestra, performances in Melbourne Recital Centre’s MusicPlay Festival, a performance of Debussy’s ‘Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun’ in the role of principal flute and a very brief period with the Australian Army Band of Melbourne.

Outside of music, Kelsy teaches at two schools and enjoys spending her time running, swimming and adoring her gloriously snoozy greyhound, Badger.
